I saw you on Steve Harvey, went to your website and here I am. It’s true I have many dreams were I lucky enough to not necessarily win the lottery but at least some of it.
We are a family of 10 under one roof in an inherited home that was my Mother-in-laws home which was built around 1979. I’ve since installed a new central a/c unit that I paid for with my SSI settlement. My Mom paid for a new roof that was damaged after Hurricane Gustav. We had no insurance. I’ve also had solar panels installed to help with this massive household’s electricity. They are a leased system.
Many years ago I had closed in the garage for my daughter to stay in with her daughter and Mother-in-law was still with us. Now my daughter and husband stay there with the three girls in two bedrooms and my wife and I in the master.
Now my youngest son and middle son were staying in the closed in patio room until my middle son got married. Now my youngest son is married and lives in that room with his wife. Yeah. She is going to cosmetology school along with my oldest grand daughter and my son makes a good living, but not enough for them to live on their own.
My #1 issue is with that back patio room that was closed in. It has a flat roof and is the original roof on the house. It leaks in a few places and needs to be torn out, rebuilt and replaced. I’d like a hip roof installed in it’s place.
If I won some money, I’d set them up in their own home so the patio room could be empty so construction could begin. You can’t do that with them in there.
He had also wrecked his car and I’ve worked on it some but money is so tight I can never get it complete. He is having to use my grand daughter’s car to commute to work. Her cosmetology school is local, so I bring them to school.
There are many other things I dream of, like a new kitchen (original with the house), but I don’t want to have to worry you with that. It’s still useable, just cluttered.
My daughter is a music/voice teacher, my son-in-law works at a demolition company, is a professional photographer on weekends and works the multi-media system at church on Sundays.
I am disabled on SSI and my wife is also disabled, was a housewife for many years and never worked enough to be able to collect SSI.
We have 5 cars with 5 car notes, utilities, grocery bills and live from check to checks. There is no savings except what CD I have left at my bank.
Thank you and God Bless.
