My dream is that I can help my son pay off his student loan. I am no longer working due to medical issues and my son is the first one of 15+ grandchildren & the first one out of my three boys to graduate from college. I myself was not that fortunate to graduate from college and when the time came he had to get a loan to stay in school I Co-Signed. Unfortunately I’m no longer working due to unforeseen medical issues. Unfortunately, going to college and graduating does not guarantee a job. You would think that if you graduate from DePaul University that people will be eager to hire you but not so. I was completely in Momma Mode when I decide to cosign so my son can graduate not thinking about I will have to be responsible for helping him pay off the loan. Because I assumed he will get a good job afterwards. He does have a job but I don’t & paying off this student loan is really not working. You would think the government would have more emotions for black boys who decided to go to college & graduate. Versus helping those who don’t want to do anything with their lives to strive & help others. My dream is to pay off this Student Loan because we both are being threatened by the loan company with them coming after us.
